How long does a laboratory refurbishment typically take?
The timeframe for your laboratory refurbishment will depend on several factors. The more complex and detailed the refurbishment project, the longer it will take. As a guide, if the refurbishments are minor, you can expect work to be complete in a few weeks. However, for more in-depth refurbishments, it may take several months to complete. We always strive to minimise downtime by planning and phasing the project thoughtfully and carefully.
Will our lab need to close during refurbishment?
Again, this will entirely depend on the agreed-upon scope of work. We will always work around your needs and keep downtime to a minimum. We can also roll out the refurbishments in phases that are convenient for you to maintain operations in unaffected areas. We'll create a clear plan to minimise disruption and ensure safety at every stage.
Can you help with compliance upgrades as part of the refurbishment?

Does Area have experience refurbishing laboratories for different biosafety levels?
We have produced laboratory solutions for spaces at biosafety level (BSL) 1 and 2, including Becton Dickinson. We built a space divided into nine separate areas functioning as a phlebotomy laboratory facility, a decontamination room, and technical services facilities, all isolated to eliminate the cross-contamination of air and fluids.
